Our Play Couches

How do I decide which play couch to purchase?

Decisions, Decisions! We tried to put as many pictures with little ones using our play couches to give you a good idea of how each model can be configured. We also have a How To Pick A Play Couch page with more detailed information.

We also suggest following us on Instagram, since we have a highlight on each of our play couch models showcasing many different builds. Customers tag us often in their posts/stories and we like to reshare the love!

What materials are your play couches made of?

The safety of our products is of utmost importance to us. Our play couches consist of foam pieces, waterproof liners and covers.

The Foam:

CertiPUR-US® certified polyurethane foam (the gold standard for foam)

* Made without ozone depleters

* Made without PBDEs, TDCPP, or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants

* Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals

* Made without formaldehyde

* Made without phthalates regulated by the CPSC

* Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

* No chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)

* Performance, durability, emissions and content-tested

* Foam density: 1.9lb/ft3 @ 60 ILD

The Waterproof Liners:

Made of polyester with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) lining - entirely non-toxic. 

The Covers:

Our covers are unlike any others, and our customers can see and feel the difference immediately! Unlike lower quality alternatives, our covers do not stretch out or become saggy over time, nor are they magnets for pet hair.

Super soft, thick, durable and machine washable luxury microsuede. All of our fabrics have been tested in an independent laboratory to ensure they comply with all Canadian and US safety regulations for children's products (including being tested for harmful substances and flammability requirements), so you can rest assured they are safe for your entire family.

Are your play couches safe for children?

The short answer is YES!

Our manufacturer as well as our company are listed on the CertiPUR-US® website, which means the foam in our play couches adheres to high health & safety standards.

All materials in our play couches have also been rigorously tested in an Intertek laboratory to ensure they are safe and comply with all North American standards for children's products (including testing for hundreds of harmful substances, flammability, and foam density).

This being said, we do not recommend young children be left unsupervised with a play couch (or any toy for that matter), nor do we recommend babies under 2 years of age sleep on a play couch.

What is the recommended age range of children to use a play couch?

Our play couches can be used from babies as young as newborn to teenages, to adults! They are fun for the whole family!

Where are your play couches manufactured?

Our play couches are currently manufactured in China by a trusted manufacturer who uses top quality, certified foam and fabric.

As much as we would love to offer a Canadian-made product, affordability was one of our top priorities. We are happy to be able to offer great quality, safe and durable products at an affordable price point.

How are your play couches packaged? How big is the box?

Our play couches are compressed and rolled into a box. You'll be surprised at how small the box is considering how much the foam expands!

Depending on when your play couch was manufactured, the liner and cover might already be on the foam, the waterproof liners might be on the foam with the covers packaged separately, or the covers might be on the foam with the waterproof liners packaged separately.

The size of the box varies depending on the model of play couch, and can be found on the product page under "dimensions".

How long after I receive my play couch can it stay in the box?

Your play couch must be unboxed within 2 weeks of receiving it to qualify for warranty coverage or be eligible for any replacement due to a manufacturer defect.This is because our play couches are compressed and rolled, and if left too long, the foam may not expand fully. Play couches cannot be left in their packaging for more than a few months without risking not rebounding fully, and depending on when your play couch is ordered/delivered, it may have already been packaged for several weeks.

This being said, we do make exceptions for orders shipped in the few weeks leading up to Christmas and for other circumstances on a case-by-case basis. When in doubt, contact us directly and we will let you know when your play couch should be unboxed.

How long will it take my play couch to fully expand?

It may take up to two weeks for the foam pieces to decompress and regain their full shape and firmness. The foam may appear "squished" at first, but don't worry! The foam needs to fluff up by absorbing air. If you remove the covers and liners and lay it out for a day or so, it will expand quicker.

It is also normal for the microsuede covers to be wrinkled when unboxed. The wrinkles will smooth out with use, or using steam will take them out right away.

Are the covers machine washable?

Absolutely they are!

Wash instructions are found on the inside of the covers (Cold, gentle cycle. Wash other colours separately. Do not bleach, hang to dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean). The waterproof liners can stay on the foam, or occasionally be washed on gentle cycle and hung to dry.

Small spills and messes can easily be wiped off with a damp cloth. The microsuede covers are super easy to wipe!

Do you recommend washing the covers before use?

We recommend washing dark coloured covers before use to avoid any chance of colour transfer (separately in cold water with 1 cup of white vinegar). Wash instructions are found on the inside of each cover.

Our Montessori-Inspired Products

What is the maximum recommended weight for these products?

Our Montessori-inspired products can support up to 50Kg, with the exception of our balance boards which can support up to 90Kg.

Where are your Montessori-Inspired products made?

Our Montessori-inspired products are currently manufactured in China by a trusted manufacturer.

Do these products require assembly?

Our Montessori-inspired products are flat packed in a box and require assembly, with the exception of our balance boards since they are a single piece. Assembly instructions are found in the box. No power tools are required for assembly.

What type of wood are these products made of?

They are made of premium quality birch wood and/or birch plywood.

Are they safe for children?

Yes!

Our products meet all current standards for chemical components and safety in objects intended for child use.

Payment & Shipping

What currency are your prices in?

Our prices can be displayed in Canadian dollars or USD. At the bottom of our webpage, you can select the appropriate currency depending on where we will be shipping to.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you offer payment plans?

We accept all major credit cards and etransfers (email money transfers only available in Canada).

We offer Sezzle and Afterpay as payment plan options (4 equal interest-free payments). At this moment, these only work for customers in Canada.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer FREE Canada and contiguous US shipping (most provinces and states) on orders over $200. For orders under $200, there is a small shipping cost.

Where do you ship from? Which shipping service do you use?

We ship from our warehouse in Calgary, Alberta.

We use Canpar, UPS or Canada Post depending on the shipping destination address.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to most provinces and states in Canada and the US. For shipping to APO or other areas, contact us and we will do our best to find a way to get our products to you!

Do you ship to PO boxes?

Yes we sure do!

Do you ship to APO or military bases?

Yes we do! Please contact us directly before placing your order so we can coordinate shipping.

When will my order ship?

We ship in-stock items within 1-2 business days, sometimes even the same day.

For pre-orders, the estimated shipping date is shown on the product page under the order button.

How long does shipping take? How can I track my order?

Shipping usually takes anywhere from 1-10 business days depending on your location. We use either Canpar, Canada Post or UPS for shipping.

You will receive an email when your shipping label is created with a tracking number. If there are special delivery instructions, be sure to let us know when you place your order.

Do you offer delayed shipping?

Yes, upon request. We ship in-stock items right away, so be sure to send us an email immediatly after placing your order to request delayed shipping.

Return Policy and Warranty

Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

If you accidentally ordered the wrong product, would like to add something else to your order, would like to make changes to the delivery address, etc - please contact us as soon as possible.

All products that have been fulfilled and delivered cannot be cancelled or returned. If you would like to cancel an order before it is shipped, please contact us immediately at hello@epickidzplay.com (subject to 15% restocking and cancellation fee). For pre-orders, estimated shipping times are provided on the product page. We do not accept returns due to logistical and packaging purposes. 

Do you have a refund/return policy?

All products that have been fulfilled and delivered cannot be cancelled or returned. If you would like to cancel an order before it is shipped, please contact us immediately at hello@epickidzplay.com (subject to 15% restocking and cancellation fee).

We do not accept returns due to logistical and packaging purposes.

What do I do if my product arrives damaged or if something is missing from my order?

If your product is somehow defective upon arrival, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to make it right. You must contact us within 14 days of delivery date for any damages or issues to be eligible for resolve.
