Direct Billing for BC Autism Funding - Making Sensory Equipment Accessible

⚠️ Autism Funding is ending April 1, 2027. If you have funds left to use for equipment, we encourage you to place your orders before your funding expires.

✅ Update: As of June 2026, a JFE (Justification for Equipment) is no longer required for play couches, making the direct billing process easier and quicker! AFU has also removed the cap on the number of play couch sets and add-ons a family can purchase each funding period (they can order multiple sets and add-ons provided they have enough funding remaining).

We understand that upfront costs can be a barrier, which is why we offer direct billing to the BC (British Columbia, Canada) Autism Funding Unit (AFU). Our goal is to make the purchasing process as simple and stress-free as possible for families, ensuring they can access the tools they need for sensory regulation, motor skill development, and therapeutic play - without financial strain.

How Direct Billing Works

We’ve streamlined the process so families can start their direct billing order right on our website!

Step-By-Step Process

Step 1: Place Your Order Online

  • Browse our products and add your chosen items to your cart (including our flexible product set options designed to support a range of therapy goals).
  • Select “Direct Billing Request – BC Autism Funding Only” as your payment method at checkout.

Step 2: We Prepare the Paperwork

  • We’ll prepare a Request to Pay (RTP) form based on your online order and send it to you for approval and signature. This form authorizes us to bill AFU directly.

Step 3: Submission to AFU

  • We submit the Equipment Quote (based on your online order) and signed RTP to AFU for approval. Alternatively, you can submit these through your online parent portal.
  • Note: The approval process may take between 2-6 weeks, depending on AFU processing times.

Step 4: Approval & Delivery

  • Once AFU approves the request, we ship the equipment directly to you and
    handle all billing with AFU.

Alternative to direct billing

If you prefer not to wait for the direct billing process, you also have the option of paying upfront and submitting the receipt to AFU yourself for reimbursement.

Simply place your order on our website and pay out of pocket, then reply to your order confirmation email asking us to send you a detailed receipt for reimbursement purposes.

Final Note on AFU Approvals

Final approval is always at the discretion of the AFU adjudicator, and depends on how much funding a family has remaining for the funding period. If a quote is denied or partially approved, we will work closely with the family and their provider to revise paperwork and explore alternative options.
